FAQs
Is coaching right for me?
1
Coaching can be helpful if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself. I offer a supportive space to slow down, notice what’s getting in the way, and gently reframe challenges so that you can better align your actions with your values and priorities.
It’s absolutely possible to do this work on your own, through reflection, books, or other resources. Still, many people find that having a steady, compassionate partner makes it easier to get unstuck, stay grounded, and trust the changes they’re making along the way.
Coaching can also be valuable even if you’re not sure exactly why you feel unsteady. If you’re curious but unsure, a free consultation is a low-pressure way to talk things through and see if it feels supportive.
What happens in a typical coaching session?
2
Our sessions are conversational, reflective, and grounded in what’s happening in your life right now.
Our first session explores your values and priorities, so we can move forward in alignment. We may revisit and refine them over time as new clarity emerges.
From there, sessions are shaped around your needs in the moment. You might bring a current challenge, a question you’re sitting with, or simply a sense that something feels off. We’ll slow down together and explore what’s underneath. We might explore patterns in your thoughts and emotions, work more skillfully with stress or difficult thoughts, or identify small, intentional shifts to experiment with in your routines or environment.
Some sessions lean more toward reflection and exploration; others focus more on practical actions. Both matter.
How long do you typically work together with clients?
3
Everyone’s needs are different, and I approach each client individually. My aim is to help you build tools you can carry forward, at a pace that’s right for you.
You may find that a short, focused series (around 6–8 sessions) is enough to increase clarity, gain comfort with new skills, and feel a steadier sense of direction.
You may also choose to continue longer. This can be especially helpful during seasons of ongoing transition.
There’s no minimum commitment, and we’ll check in along the way to see what feels most supportive.
How is coaching different from therapy?
4
Coaching and therapy can sometimes touch on similar topics, including mindfulness, reframing challenges, and building new skills or thought patterns. Coaching focuses on values, self-awareness, and sustainable growth in the present and future, while therapy often centers more on healing past experiences or treating mental health conditions.
If you’re navigating mental health concerns, connecting with a licensed mental health professional is always the most appropriate place to start.
Coaching isn’t a replacement for therapy and isn’t designed for crisis support. Addressing mental health needs first can help people feel steadier and get more out of the coaching process, if and when they choose to pursue it. Ultimately, what matters is finding the kind of support that best meets your needs as they are right now.
How much do coaching sessions cost?
5
I aim to keep my rates transparent and fair. My rate for coaching sessions is $90 for 50 minutes. If cost is a barrier, you’re still welcome to reach out. I reserve a limited number of reduced-rate spots for clients who are genuinely interested but unable to afford my standard rate.
What if I decide coaching isn’t a good fit for me right now?
6
Choosing to work with a coach is a personal decision. You’re never obligated to continue, and it’s ok if coaching doesn’t feel like the right fit, now or later. My goal is to offer a supportive space, whether or not we work together.
